The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nightime
Jul 7 2007, 9:08 AM EDT
Mark Haddon! WOW! Not only is this book for teens and adults, but it is both a mixture of humour and sadness. it includes 100 genres all in one. there's the life thorugh an autistic boy, and it is brilliantly set out. 10/10.

Most of the reading groups in Portsmouth quite enjoyed this book. Some of the language was considered a bit 'rum' but everyone appreciated the unreliable narrator aspects and the insight into the mind of somebody with aspergers.

"a bit "rum""? as long as it is in context, there is nothing wrong with a bit of lanquage. indeed, it adds realism. people swear in real life, so why not in books?

On the whole I agree, but some people read books to escape the real world with all its violence, swearing and nastiness. It's no coincidence that the nation always vote books like 'winnie the pooh' and 'wind in the willows' as their favourite reads.
